Heartbeat@Bedok
Heartbeat@Bedok is conceptualised as a town-level community avenue to meet the changing lifestyle needs of East Coast residents. The building is located at the confluence of major pedestrian nodes in the heart of the Bedok Town Centre which offers barrier-free access, linkways to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station and bus interchange as well as nearby commercial malls, making it easier for residents to come by to enjoy the facilities and participate in community programmes to enhance their quality of life. With its lushness, Heartbeat@Bedok is an oasis of serenity amidst the bustling Bedok Town with some saying that it is a modern interpretation of the “Hanging Gardens of Babylon” of Bedok.
Officially opened in 2018, the 7-storey Heartbeat@Bedok was envisioned as a key civic space for the local community.
Vision: To establish Heartbeat@Bedok as a center of energy, enrichment and fun for the betterment of East Coast residents.
Mission : To help residents develop active, healthy, creative, learning and forward looking lifestyles through resident and community-centric programming
Bringing Sports and Wellness Integrated Programmes to Encourage Active Living
The Management Office partners co-located agencies namely, Sport Singapore, People’s Association (Kampong Chai Chee Constituency Office), SingHealth Polyclinics, National Library Board and NTUC Day Centre For Seniors as well as external agencies such as Health Promotion Board to drive regular sports and wellness integrated programmes under Heartbeat@Bedok’s “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon” and “Good Evening” series in addition to other ad-hoc integrated activities that cater to residents of all ages. The co-location of the various agencies within the community building generates synergy of operations and promotes creative cross-programming, with the aim of achieving wider community outreach and resident engagement, for the betterment of residents in Bedok and East Coast.
